My Message To The Reddit People
Seems like there’s a real pack mentality going on over at Reddit, and everyone is terrified to express a dissenting view for fear of being ganged up on. I’ve noticed that they all seem to have poor manners and cowardly use the cloak of anonymity that the internet supposedly provides (but really doesn’t, of course) to say things to people they would never have the balls to in real life.
It isn’t so much the barrage of insults that bothers me so much as it is how they all seem to be of one mind, as if there were an eminence grise somewhere secretly monitoring everything, ready to dispatch a goon to whack them across the skull should they step out of line.
They all write baleful comments, but so far none of them, and none from this site either, for that matter, has taken issue with a single shred of my argument and suspicion that Ryan Hillegas was the murderer. They all say, “You shouldn’t have gone over there on Yom Kipur, what were you thinking?” Every day of the year is a major holiday somewhere, as it turns out. It didn’t look like much of a celebration was going on when I was invited in. And isn’t Christmas the one day, if you’re really celebrating what Christ stood for, that maybe you should consider letting a stranger in? Isn’t that the whole biblical story, that Christ had to sleep in an animal feeding trough (that’s what a manger is in case you didn’t know) on Christmas (his birthday, and the same day I went over to the Avery’s)? I think the idea is that we should be kind to people and not turn our backs on them when they are in need.
Anyway, I know you probably shouldn’t yank the ears of a single troll let alone an entire army of them, but I finally got so fed up with the redditors that I had to respond. Ultimately, how afraid should anyone be of a group of overweight (or ectomorphic), pale, broken white dudes sitting around in their underpants writing comments on reddit? So I have a message for the Trolls of the internet: bring it motherfuckers! Me not afraid.
I despair for all of you sniveling, weak-minded frightened pharisees who speak in rude unanimity of my supposed compromised state of mental health. Look around you at the world you live in. Streets crowded with the homeless, a justice system that would embarrass the Soviets, the spiritual void of mass consumerism, and other ills too numerous to innumerate. How many of you righteous have been through the American criminal justice system and experienced first hand its appetite for destruction and dishonesty? The high contempt in which you ordinarily hold the government is willingly exchanged for a childlike gullibility when it is the government, (and make no mistake, the court is a function of the government presided over by such politicians as the sheriff, the DA and the judge — all elected officials) who brands your fellow citizen a “criminal”. Being charged with a certain crime is tantamount to having committed that crime, so we see here the mention that I was charged with murder. Of what relevance could that actually be if it were not so other than the state’s attempt to control the narrative at the outset? Whence your unshakeable faith in only THIS aspect of the government, when you are otherwise able to hold forth as well or better than I on all of the things you DON’T trust about the government. What else could it be but your own well-fed and self-justified cynicism regarding your fellow man and yourself as well, yet your desperate hope to feel superior too? Now that I’ve boxed your ears a little, and hey, after the shit storm I’ve gone through here you should have known you had it coming, I hope one day some of you will get off of your fat hemorrhoided asses, jump on a plane to Ferguson, Manitowoc, Malheur, New York, Chicago, Staten Island, Compton or wherever it’s going down and join your fellow Americans and FUCKING do something for a goddamn change besides cowardly and pathetically taking shots at someone behind the safe glow of your laptop. And if you say that makes me a hypocrite because that’s exactly what I’m doing to Ryan Hillegas, you’re wrong. I’m simply asking him for an alibi because, astonishingly, no one has bothered to do this. Or should we simply avoid looking at alternative suspects because we might hurt someone’s feelings?. As soon as we can simply get a verifiable alibi, this comes to an immediate end, and I’ve said as much to Ryan himself who apparently is a a frequent visitor to my site. By the way, ideape.blogspot now redirects to my new domain, OVERTHROW!
